Wanted to share a good insurance experience because I was pretty stressed when all this happened.
We switched our dog to Figo in April through a Costco discount. Our premium was around $40 a month, and we sent in the orthopedic waiver after his checkup because the vet said everything looked fine.
Then at the end of June he tore his ACL and meniscus while running in the yard. Just our luck. Surgery was around $4,000, and I was convinced the claim was going to be a nightmare.
We have a $750 deductible with 80% reimbursement. Figo asked for the vet notes and invoices, reviewed it for about three weeks, and approved the claim. We ended up paying around $1,300 ourselves.
I'm relieved. He's recovering well, and the customer service was helpful. I know people have different experiences, but this first big claim went much better than I expected. Has anyone else had an orthopedic claim with them?
