We enrolled our dog with Nationwide as a puppy in 2016 and kept the policy for ten years. Our premium grew from $63.84 to $435.53 monthly, but we stayed because we thought keeping coverage would protect him as he got older. Then a nonrenewal notice arrived. The replacement they described would reduce reimbursement from 90% after a $250 deductible to 50% with a $5,000 annual cap, and prescription food and medication would no longer be covered. Now he has health issues and I am worried other plans would see them as pre-existing. Has anybody navigated a change this drastic?
